Our story

We built the practice we wished had existed.

Selador grew from a simple frustration: the people doing the hardest emotional work were often the same people drowning in forms - and no one was holding both at once.

How Selador began

A name that means a sheltered place to grow.

Our founder, Esme Larkin, spent ten years inside stretched mental-health services watching the same pattern repeat: clients would make real progress in the room, then lose ground to a benefits letter, a missed deadline, an application that defeated them.

So in 2015 she opened a single room with two intentions - keep the therapy slow and human, and never let the practical world quietly undo it. Selador is the result: a place where the emotional and the administrative are treated as one piece of work, because for the people we serve, they always were.

What we hold to

Four principles, kept simple.

01

Pace belongs to you

We never rush a feeling or a decision. Progress that lasts is progress you set the speed of.

02

Plain language, always

Whether it's trauma or paperwork, we say things in words a tired human can actually use.

03

The whole person counts

Mind, body, admin, presence - we don't pretend any one of them lives in isolation.

A decade, measured

Small practice, real reach.
